Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

WHO IS PERSONAL TRAINING FOR?

The personal training experience is meant for anyone seeking accountability and a path to reach his or her optimal health, fitness, and/or weight loss. The personal training sessions range from holistic to specific experiences that any personality or client can relate to.

WHY HIRE A PERSONAL TRAINER?

Hiring a personal trainer takes the thinking out of your workouts. Essentially, you’re hiring a personal health advisor to create exercise and wellness plans based on your needs and wants. You no longer need to research or guess what might work for your body. Joan is a certified fitness coach and trainer in Hilton Head with over 10 years of experience, who takes the guesswork out of your approach to exercise and uses her expertise to help you reach your goals efficiently and without injury. Joan can work with you at your home or at various fitness facilities in Hilton Head and Bluffton.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION LIKE?

Depending on your goals, history in the gym, and injuries, meeting with a personal trainer in Hilton Head can vary greatly. Essentially, Joan’s personal training sessions are individualized based on your needs and wants. Unless there’s an injury, you’ll rarely repeat the same movement during your sessions. You can expect an appropriately challenging, varied workout that will improve your power, speed, strength, balance, flexibility & coordination. You’ll also utilize a wide variety of equipment and body movements to achieve your goals. While you exercise, Joan discusses any challenges you face, and exercise beyond your personal training sessions in Hilton Head. You will enjoy functional training or specific and individualized physical training that’s structured to match the requirements of your everyday life. It's quite literally fitness with a function, or goal, in mind.

HOW MANY TIMES PER WEEK SHOULD YOU MEET WITH A PERSONAL TRAINER?

The number of sessions with a personal trainer in Hilton Head really depends on a number of factors, including your budget, availability, and need for accountability. On average, most clients meet with their fitness coaches one to three sessions per week (an average of twice). While personal training programs are an investment, the fitness experience shouldn't create more stress. Determine the appropriate budget to create the accountability you desire and the freedom to choose a personal trainer with the exercise and diet approach as well as the expertise you need. Remember that results take commitment and time. We recommend a minimum program commitment of one month to start experiencing results.

HOW MUCH IS A PERSONAL TRAINER IN HILTON HEAD?

Although the market typically determines the cost of a personal trainer in Hilton Head or Bluffton, you may find a range of $49-$130 per personal training session. As you unravel the differences among each price point, you can determine what you value the most. Most often, the lower price point for a personal trainer will steer you to a fitness facility with semi-private personal training, and less personalized programming. You may find more experienced fitness trainers who have a personal training specialization such as senior fitness, in a boutique gym, on the higher end of the price spectrum. Fitness and health accreditations and certifications, from organizations like the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) or TRX, will also increase the value of the personal training sessions.
